It’s good when you do your own repairs. After all, it saves you money in the first place. And, of course, before starting repairs, you need to evaluate your capabilities. And will you succeed?

Before starting any repair, you need to understand what kind of result you need. What do you want – to increase the working space, change the outdated image, there may be some kind of emergency or something else.

Having decided on the amount that you can invest in repairs, it is still worth consulting with specialists, especially if you want to do extensive repairs in your kitchen. After all, it will be more difficult to correct errors than just prevent them.

Various communications are concentrated in the kitchen: plumbing, sewage, ventilation, electrical network, gas pipeline. And before starting the repair, you should decide whether the location of the sink is convenient for you, whether you have enough sockets, whether there is enough lighting, since electrical and plumbing work needs to be done before the start of the repair. But, in no case should you perform any work with gas equipment, since only specialized organizations should do this.

It is better to purchase the materials necessary for repair immediately. And it’s better to do it with wholesale delivery, as it will cost you less than multiple trips to supermarkets or to the construction market. Purchasing direct finishing materials (tiles, dry mixes, linoleum, electrical fittings, etc.).d.), do not forget about the auxiliary ones – construction tape (painting tape), thinner, paint remover, protective mask, gloves, knives, plumbing sealant, construction bags, etc.d. Starting repairs in the room, you should free it as much as possible.

The order of repair work is essential. After dismantling the old finish and cleaning up the garbage, you need to do plumbing.  The layout of the drains depends on the presence of only a sink or also on whether you will have a dishwasher.

If the wall allows, then you can drown pipes into it so that the furniture is installed closely. And then we change the windows (if it was in your plans). Then we do the wiring of sockets and lighting. And only after that we proceed to the repair of the ceiling. If you want to make it suspended, then you will have to work with an aluminum profile and drywall.  After the ceiling, we align the walls.

Start plastering when the plaster is completely dry. So your walls will be strong and will not get damp. Then you tile and wallpaper. Washing wallpapers are usually chosen for the kitchen, as steam and grease accumulate a lot here.

Lastly, in the kitchen we make the floor. Before starting work, it should be made perfectly even (using a leveling solution) and clean.  You can lay tiles or linoleum, but in no case laminate, as under the influence of frequent washing it will lose its appearance.

After finishing the repair in the kitchen, let the room settle for a few days, and then you can install household appliances and furniture.
