Types of plastic windows

When choosing a plastic window, you first need to find out what types of plastic windows exist.

Plastic windows are divided by type and possibility of opening. Allocate blind windows, turning, tilt-and-turn, folding and windows that open in both directions. Blind plastic windows are fixed and are usually installed in rooms where there is no space for opening windows, for example, a window in a narrow corridor, a window under the ceiling, a window in a bathroom or toilet, etc. P. Such a plastic window implements only one function – the function of light transmission. It must be remembered: deaf plastic windows are installed in the place where there will be free access from the outside for washing.

Pivoting plastic windows swing open with sashes into the room. This is a traditional and familiar type of windows for rooms. Hinged windows are very affordable.

However, a more convenient option for windows is tilt-and-turn. These plastic designs are in high demand. They open like pivot windows and can also be tilted at a small angle. This is very convenient when there is insufficient space and when ventilating the room.

Hinged windows cannot be fully opened, their sashes can only be folded back to allow air to enter at the top of the window. It is very inconvenient to wash folding plastic windows from the outside.

The most expensive, but also the most convenient – windows that open in both directions. These windows have almost no flaws, they look very aesthetically pleasing, they are easy to clean. This type of window is very easy to use.

According to the number of sashes, plastic windows are divided into single-leaf and multi-leaf. Typically, multi-leaf windows are a combination of blind, turn and tilt-and-turn windows, which can save both money and space when installing large windows.

According to the cumulative design principles, plastic windows do not differ from wooden ones. The difference is that for the manufacture of individual parts of the window, not solid bars are used, but empty multi-chamber plastic profiles.

Construction of plastic windows

The main components of the window design are the frame, sashes, double-glazed windows and fittings.

The frame is an immovable part of the window inserted into its opening. The sashes are the parts of the window attached to the frame that can be opened and closed. The frame can be divided into parts by an immovable vertical or horizontal crossbar, which is called an impost. A double-glazed window is a set of glasses that are at a distance from each other, with an inter-glass space sealed along the contour. A double-glazed window can be single-chamber or double-chamber, depending on the number of glasses included in it. Glazing beads are strips that hold the double-glazed window in the frame or sash.
