What not to do without when repairing

You can’t do without it when you need to lighten the wood or remove the old stain.

However, keep in mind that this material is very caustic, hazardous to health. In addition, it can correct previously incorrect etching of wood (the color turned out to be too dark, uneven stripes appeared). Please note: since this preparation is very caustic, it is necessary to work with gloves and protective clothing, make sure that, God forbid, it does not hit in the eyes, and if this happens, immediately rinse them thoroughly with running water.

A well-known bleach is common concentrated bleach. Apply it with a rag, a hard brush on a tree and rub. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water. This procedure is repeated several times. Finally, rub the wood thoroughly with a sponge to remove bleach residue.

In this process, and then washing, the wood swells, so before doing the next operation, dry well, and then sand the wood smoothly and cover with a thin layer of varnish or paint.

WOOD PUTTY

It is easy to smooth the surface. This putty can be mixed with stain. Applying putty is the first necessary step to get a smooth finish on wood paneling. More information about building materials can be found by viewing the price of technicol.

True, some people skip this stage when working, but putty must be used to smooth out damaged areas, and even it will give a truly satin smoothness. By mixing it with wood stain, you will simultaneously achieve wood tinting.

Pasty putty should be slightly diluted with white spirit (or such a solvent recommended in the instructions by the manufacturer of this particular putty), and apply the resulting thick liquid with a brush or trowel to the damaged area or wood with a large structure, for example, such as walnut, oak, ash, mahogany.

ALKYD PRIMER

This is the best primer to use under bare wood paint. But they are not very good as a first coat on gypsum wallboards, as the alkyd provokes hairiness on the paper panel. Many top paints, including matte water-based paints, adhere well to the alkyd layer. Tools and the resulting blots are easily washed with solvents that are used for alkyd paints.

Emulsion primer

Acrylic primer is valuable for the preparation of all available types of surfaces, i.e. internal and external. However, since its base is water, this primer can fail over time – rust will appear on ferrous metals if they are not previously treated with a metal primer (they will be discussed in the next article).

The emulsion primer has many advantages: it almost does not smell, it dries quickly (in just 2-4 hours), and the tool can be easily washed with ordinary soap and water.
